  * Basic Insurance: Personal injury is covered through the Accident Compensation Commission (NZ) and Registration Third Party Insurance (AU) in most cases, however, Maui strongly recommends that all clients take out Personal Injury Travel Insurance. All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle and to the property of the Third Party. This hirer is responsible for the first NZ$/AU$7,500 (‘the excess’) of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs. The Excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. This NZ$/AU$7,500 excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of Excess Reduction Option 1 or Option 2. Please see ‘General Terms and Conditions’ for details of these options for excess reduction.
